The Older Muscles website was created for one main purpose – to help people over the age of 40, especially people who live busy lives, take control of their health and wellness. As humans age, their wellness needs and what they can do, and equally important what they cannot do, changes.
By the age of 40, long gone are the days when people can spend endless hours at the gym pumping iron as heavy as their muscles can handle without fearing about increased joint pain and how the intense lifting sessions will impact their everyday lives. Older individuals have aches and pains that they didn’t have earlier in life, and often have demanding careers and children/grandchildren. Their lives are busier, their bodies are crankier, and that requires a different approach to fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness compared to people in their 20s and 30s.
In a world that is increasingly saturated with young social media fitness influencers and exercise models with physiques that are likely not obtainable for older everyday people, it can be a daunting task to find exercise and nutritional information that is tailored toward people over 40 years old who live busy lives. This is especially true for people who are starting out their fitness journeys with bodies that have not exercised in a long time. The goal of this website is to provide tailored information that can be realistically incorporated into an older, busy person’s life to help them boost their overall wellness and feel better about themselves and their health.
